Women’s encounter
mater, form and mind in the art of women
“Women’s Encounter mater, form and mind in the art of women ” is an event that has brought together seven international artists deriving China, Sweden, Great Britain, France, and the United States to confront their artistic ability amongst each other and to evolve as artist. The exhibition aims to offer the viewer an overview that summarizes the heterogeneous plurality of stimuli offered by the artist- expressed both, in figurative and abstract style; define their individual ethnic makeup, which creates a personal and intimate shared experience, giving identity to their existential political, ethical, social and cultural hardships and simultaneously defining their role as artist. The exhibited work explores, according to each individual point of view, major women issues, such as those of suffering, sexuality, maternity, and women’s empowerment. It is a tribute to all women, the heterogeneous female universe, and multi-ethnic, multi-colored and rich in various styles world. The exhibit will be held at the exhibition center of the Palazzo Albrizzi in Venice and followed by a conference in which the artists will discuss their respective artistic territories with the audience. The exhibit is structured in a run of four sections according to a criterion that is largely thematic and addressed through a creative vision and a trans-style. Considering the limitations imposed by the exhibition space in offering solutions in support of interactivity, the curatorial methodology is set mainly on the message the art conveys itself. To achieve maximum interaction between the artistic objective- subjective and the audience, it was thought of to expand the current boundaries of visual art by introducing a series of meetings, starting with the opening, where the presence of the curator and the artist will be accompanied by a series of theatrical performances, music and a critic session in order to provide alternative channels of communication with the public thus facilitating their contact with the works.
