You can see anywhere
even underground
beyond the light
that passes through the glass.
The city where you rest
is a slightly larger house
a vase of smoke and ash
among cut flowers and costume.
Where the sight gets used to.
Blurring your gaze
as when we were children
we did for fun
make that veil of dust yours
and from the blind street
defend it with the ferocity
of an honest deserter.
